Jody Shelton grew up in Amarillo, Texas. He attended college for his undergrad at Liberty University and received his Master of Divinity from Liberty Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 2003 and has served churches in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida during his twenty-three years of full-time ministry.
Jody enjoys football, Star Wars, and watching a good movie. In 1999 he met his wife Ruth in Jacksonville, Florida at University Baptist where they both worked. They began dating and were married in April 2000. They have two sons Dawson (18) and Graham (17).
Jody’s oldest son Dawson was diagnosed with autism in 2006. He is passionate about encouraging families of children with special needs.
Scott is a Georgia native and has served at Mount Zion since January 2012. He and his wife Loretta have two daughters, Sarah (and husband, Joseph) and Katie (and husband, Zack) and one granddaughter, Stella Jane. Scott and Loretta love to spend time with family, traveling, and attending opening day at the Atlanta Braves baseball games.
Donnie earned his master’s degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has served as a youth pastor and associate pastor in Gwinnett since 2000. Married to Cindy with two children, Landon and Carson, Donnie races amateur motocross with his friends at tracks around the southeast.
Katie grew up in Dacula Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia, and married her high school sweetheart. She and her husband, Jonathon, have been married for over 20 years and have three daughters, Abigail, Anabel, and Rachel Mae. Katie is passionate about preschool education and wants kids to fall in love Jesus and with learning.
Jonathan grew up in Gwinnett County before attending Shorter University, graduating with a degree in Worship & Music Leadership. He met his wife Hannah at Shorter and they were married in 2018. Jonathan grew up at MZ and has been the Worship Leader since 2021. He is currently pursuing an MDiv from Southeastern. Jonathan and Hannah enjoy hiking, road trips, and spending time with their energetic Goldendoodle, Honey.
Andrea was born and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She attended Killian Hill Christian School from kindergarten through twelfth grade and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. She had the privilege of teaching for seven years before becoming the children’s director at Mount Zion. Andrea’s hobbies include traveling, reading, and hanging with kids!
Evan has served as Mount Zion’s Media Coordinator since 2018. Graduating high school in 2015, he continued on with specialized training in sound, graphic design, and computer sciences.
